To ensure a professional and timely installation by our flooring installers please read and follow the recommendations listed below.

If contracted, our installers will be happy to remove and replace normal household furniture and disconnected appliances.
For your peace of mind, please personally remove:
Glass, marble or slate table tops and lamps.
Plants, antiques, accent pieces and special care items.
Audio, visual, computer systems.
Items from closet floors, bed linens and drain water beds.
Please make special arrangements for:
Pool tables, pianos, grandfather clocks, aquariums and big screen TV's.
Gas, Water and electrical lines.
Make note of any hidden wiring such as TV, phone, cable, or alarms. Also note any hidden pipes such as radiant heat and water lines. These items must be brought to the installers attention prior to installation.
Arrangements can also be made for the removal of old carpet and pad. If you are removing the old material yourself, please do so prior to the installers arrival. Leave the tack strip in place. Old rubber back carpet must be removed from the floor. The cleared area should be swept and vacuumed. Provide fresh ventilation during removal and installation of carpet and pad.

Job Site
Proper job site conditions are required for a proper installation Maintain a room temperature of at least 65° for the previous 48 hours. Electrical power, adequate lighting and proper ventilation must be present for the entire installation.
Door Removal
It is sometimes necessary to remove doors. There is, however, always the possibility that after the installation is complete, the doors may not clear and swing freely.
We will remove the doors for installation, and we will rehang them, if possible. We regret, however, that we are unable to plane or cut doors as this requires equiptment and expertise best provided by a carpenter.
Molding, Trim, and Cove Base
Existing metals will be reused or replaced as necessary. Certain installations will require that existing base, trim, or moldings be removed. The installer will use care in removing and reinstalling any existing transition materials but cannot be responsible for breakage. While every effort will be made to ensure this is neatly done, chipped paint is always a possibility. Be prepared to do a little touch up after the installation.

Protect Your Investment
Ask your salesperson for copies of warranties and maintenance instructions applicable to your flooring.
With any floorcovering, the best maintenance is preventive, and in the case of carpet, that means vacuuming and regular professional cleaning. You cannot over vacuum carpet.
Exactly how frequently a carpet should be vacuumed depends on numerous use related factors. As a general rule, we recommend that carpets be vacuumed twice per week overall and daily in traffic or high-use areas. Upright vacuums have been proven most effective. Canister vacuums must be equipped with a separate beater bar unit.
Please be aware that the following conditions may exist immediately after installation:
Seams Seams will be professionally installed but will not be invisible. Some materials hide seams better than others. Ask your salesperson/estimator where seams will be placed.
"Shedding" Your new carpet will shed small bits of fiber for up to six months. Do not be alarmed if your vacuum fills up quickly.
"Roll Marks" You may see shaded areas or lines across the width of your new carpet. These result from the weight of the carpet resting on itself during storage. These marks will disappear in time with normal traffic and vacuuming.
Woodwork We will be very careful to avoid damage to your baseboards and other woodwork while delivering and installing your floorcovering. Some scuffing of woodwork may be unavoidable. A minor touch-up may be required.
